About the artist

The Gently Unfurling Sneak

Lover of surrealism, adventurous animals and unexplainable details.

The Gently Unfurling Sneak

The Gently Unfurling Sneak is a design studio founded by Melbourne-based illustrator and collagist Anika Cook. It came to life accidentally when Anika had the dream of teaching herself how to screen print. With a degree in the creative arts under her belt, she dove right into experimenting with different techniques - all in the hopes of finding a way to evade having to get a “real job”. Many stained kitchen tables later, the studio has become a flourishing business. Anika is influenced by the Surrealists and the Dadaists and has a serious obsession with Victorian era lithographs. Her golden rule for anything that makes it out of the studio: it needs to be either beautiful or strange, or a combination of the two.
