'Abstraction is real, probably more real than nature.' - Joseph Albers
Jonathan Lawes
Overlapping colours and textures are brought to the forefront in Jonathan Lawes's compositions. His prints pay tribute to his love for geometry and patterns, elements which resonate from his artworks with a distinctly graphic edge. Subtly concealing layers upon layers, he deliberately masks some areas of his canvas, while choosing to reveal flashes of colour in others. The UK-native is based in Berlin, where he divides his time between printmaking and working as a designer for interior clients.
