About the artist

Tan Kadam

For me, photography is a daily journey of discovery.

Tan Kadam

The German-born, Istanbul-raised Tan Kadam’s plant photography is ostensibly objective, presenting its subjects in a clear, documentary style. But under the surface of his seemingly meticulous attention to detail lurks a level of abstraction, differentiating his works from traditional flower stills. Removed from the natural chaos of their environment, the banal beauty of Tan’s flowers unfolds through its simplicity; their forms are accentuated, their hues pushed into the foreground.
