The unicorn whisperer

Unicorn fever is nothing new. For centuries, it’s been said that unicorns possess magical powers. Scores of fantastical stories have been dedicated to these one-horned creatures, giving them a legendary status throughout history. Since the mid-19th century, zoologists have been trying to discover whether the mythical creature is rooted in biological reality. The closest they’ve ever come, however, is a species of antelope of ancient Egypt and the narwhal, the so-called unicorn of the sea.

The lack of a scientific proof for these wonderous creatures has done nothing to dampen our unwavering fascination for these though. On the contrary—it has fuelled symbolism and myths surrounding these miraculous animals even more, inspiring a wide body of art from paintings to bedding. Want a magic night’s sleep? Then tuck yourself in to a unicorn duvet cover.

My little unicorn

Rivalled perhaps only by dinosaurs, unicorns are a staple of kids’ rooms art the world over. They stand for hope, magic and freedom and really bring an interior to life. In reality, even adults can hardly resist these divine stallions. Where do they get their power? Their horns! In mythology, their horns had the ability to heal, curing diseases and bringing the dead back to life. Why stop at unicorns then. Let your imagination run wild with one-horned llamas and unicorn seahorses on fantasy-fuelled bedding.
