About the artist

Catrin Welz-Stein

Making hidden things visible, looking behind masks, entering dreamscapes – that’s what my pictures do.

Catrin Welz-Stein

German artist Catrin Welz-Stein draws inspiration from antique images and curiosities to create art that is both surreal and sensuous. She invites the viewer to escape into eerie fairytale worlds. Catrin started out experimenting with collages in 2009 and has adapted her technique over the years to incorporate skills honed in her day job as a graphic designer. Now she refines each piece digitally to achieve even more ethereal images.
