About the artist

Anja Hebrank Photography

The best camera is the one you have with you.

Anja Hebrank Photography

Born in a small town near Hamburg in 1986, Anja received her first camera on her 10th birthday. Ever since then, she's been busy drawing inspiration from everyday life and travelling. Now a graphic designer and fine arts teacher based in Berlin, Anja reinterprets street photography of the 1920s-1950s into her own contemporary imagery. Tinted with grayscale, fade-outs and colour filters, her verging-on-retro photography simultaneously conveys a sense of familiarity and fly-on-the-wall observation—not to mention an intrinsic element of nostalgia.
