Clever cats

We're not saying cats make better pets than dogs. Far from it. But a cat's brain, for example, is 90% similar to our own and has over 300 million neurons, far exceeding that of the dog. You can draw your own conclusions from that. Numbers don't lie.

Worshipped or demonised by many a civilisation, our feline friends don't leave many people sitting on the fence—they truly are the Marmite of the animal kingdom. They seem to have taken the fancy of many of our artists though. From illustrations to black and white photography, these cats have been caught on canvas in various ways. Find the puuurfect cat poster for you.

Nine lives

But our artists aren't the only ones to admire these four-pawed beings. Just think of the famous felines that star in the paintings of Toulouse-Lautrec, Hokusai, Paul Klee or Renoir. Their mystery and elegance have never ceased to fascinate us.

In Japan, cats bring good luck in the form of iconic Maneki-Neko talismans. In Thailand, they're said to possess the power to predict the weather and even earthquakes. The French are afraid of black cats, associating them with witches, but back across the Channel in Blighty, they bring good fortune. Looking for an omen? Try your luck with cat art.

The feline family

Our cuddly couch partners with their glossy coats and well-fed bellies are just one side of the cat coin though. From the power of the tiger to the precision of the lynx to the speed of the cheetah, the feline family is big. With such unparalleled grace, it's hard not to be passionate about these wondrous beings.

Let your personality pounce off the walls with lion or jaguar wall art. Your interior is your territory, after all.
