Designed by Andy Warhol. "Why don't you paint a few cows? They're so bucolic" Warhol was once asked by art dealer Ivan Karp. The challenge was immediately taken up by the artist, who designed a wallpaper featuring pink cows against a yellow background, to be exhibited in New York in 1966. "Cow, 1976", the version you see here, is the third iteration of the work and was created for an exhibition at the Modern Art Pavilion in Seattle, which ran between 1976 and 1977.
