About the artist
I try to approach every subject with an open mind.
English photographer and professional clarinetist Simon Butterworth thrives on dividing his time between his two great passions. When he’s not on tour with symphony orchestras, he loves nothing more than travelling the world to capture his favourite subjects, landscapes and architecture, through his lens. Given his busy schedule, Simon meticulously researches prospective photographic projects for months or even years before they come to fruition. Whether he’s shooting the high rises of Hong Kong or desertscapes from a bird’s eye view, his images are noteworthy for their reflective composition, dramatic lighting, and a calming sense of balance.
