At JUNIQE, sustainability is a core priority, and we take our responsibility to the planet seriously. This means constantly reviewing our production and delivery processes, along with every other aspect of our business: a duty that we owe to our artists, our employees, and our community.

We’ve already taken many steps towards a more sustainable future, but there is always more that can be done—and we’re ready for the challenge.

All of our posters, prints, and frames are made in the EU, with 70% achieving full Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification. In other words, all materials are produced according to the highest ecological and social standards from well-managed forests or recycled sources.

70% is a big number, but it’s not high enough, so each year we review ways in which we can get closer to that 100% mark. We work closely with our producers to continually improve the sustainability of our products, firstly by ensuring materials are selected with the environment in mind, and secondly, by continually adapting processes to minimise production waste.

Since 2019, we have reduced plastic in our packaging by 70%, and 100% of poster orders are now shipped plastic-free.

Our new cardboard packaging is custom-fit for larger orders to reduce unnecessary waste, and is fully recyclable. Not happy with your order? Our return options are also designed to minimise waste and reduce shipments, helping to lower our carbon footprint. As of June 2020, we've saved over 3.5 million kilometres in shipments—that’s roughly 5 trips to the moon and back, in case you were wondering.

All of our stationery products are produced in the EU and are 100% FSC®-certified. Although our stationery packaging is not yet plastic-free, this is high on our agenda: our goal is to switch to fully recyclable packaging by the end of 2020.

All of our products are made in Germany and conform to stringent quality and sustainability standards. Our living products, such as cushions and duvet sets, are all 100% OEKO-TEX certified. Our cushions are made with recycled filling, utilising fabric scraps that would otherwise be discarded.

Our primary textile producer provides flexible employment opportunities to local people who face challenges entering the job market, such as stay at home parents and people with disabilities. This social initiative also ensures that there are no unnecessary product shipments from abroad, helping to further lower our carbon footprint.
