I am Geraldine Oetken. I make rubbish. First it's in my head, then on paper. And then maybe in your living room. I've built myself a small wooden studio in an old warehouse in Hanover and affectionately call it NUR SO STUDIO.
I first studied fine art, then wrote for newspapers for years before returning to painting full-time. My favourite thing to do is draw animals. Or paint them. Or stroke them. I scratch texts into lino plates.
For me, art is good when it makes you laugh. Or at least makes you blow out a little more air through your nose than usual.
My favourite thing to paint with is gouache, my second favourite is anything else. And my favourite thing to do is to combine the many different techniques. The NUR SO STUDIO offers animal paintings, portraits, commissioned work and typography.
