About the design
John Constable was a renowned English landscape painter of the 19th century, best known for his romantic depictions of the English countryside, especially the area around his home in Suffolk, which became known as "Constable Country." Born in 1776, Constable rejected idealized landscapes in favor of naturalistic scenes, capturing the beauty of rural life with great attention to light, atmosphere, and cloud formations. His most famous works include The Hay Wain and Dedham Vale. Though not widely appreciated during his lifetime, Constable is now celebrated as one of Britain’s greatest landscape
