Lise Ruault is a visual artist and art school teacher. Her photographic approach is characterised by a strong emphasis on contrast, where light becomes the raw material. She explores the interplay of light and shadow to reveal forms, compositions and textures that transform our perception of reality. Her photographs are taken during her travels, mainly in France, where she lives, but also in Spain, Italy, Ireland and soon in Albania. These travels nourish her eye and provide her with a diversity of landscapes and atmospheres that she transposes sensitively into her work.
