"I listen to psychedelic music from the 60s and my head does the rest."
Kris Tate was born in Guatemala City. After studying art and graphic design in her home town, she moved to the UK, where she began working as a freelance artist. In her digital collages, animals, anthropomorphic fantasy creatures and artistic role models such as Frida Kahlo meet colourful illustrations inspired by Kris' origins and the culture of the Aztecs and Mayas. The unmistakable result? Safari disco crossover.
