Rafael da Silva Gomes comes from Fortaleza, in the north-east of Brazil. He draws his inspiration from his travels, which send him to the limits of his comfort zone, and from music. This is also reflected in his "Coleção Toys" series: a lively homage to the icons of music, art and pop culture. With meticulous attention to detail, he gives his toy figures the faces of famous personalities from the past and present - from Elvis to Marilyn Monroe and Walter White. By bringing celebrities to the miniature level, he takes a critical look at the nature of fame.
