"I take my inspiration from everyday life."
Isabelle Vandeplassche places the small but fine details at the centre of her work. Using gouache and watercolour techniques, she conjures up the delicate aesthetics of the sunny Portuguese fishing village where she currently lives on her designs. The artist draws inspiration from everyday things: domestic objects and practices, botanical gardens, flea markets - and combines the exotic regions of the world, from the Mediterranean to Morocco, with the simple cosiness of her own home.

Ordered door mats from Juniqe. When they didn't arrive I contacted their customer service. I was a bit worried about how that would go, but I have to say, they were really great - got back to me immediately, polite, friendly and really helpful. They chased the delivery and when they weren't happy with the reply from the courier - resent the order, which I received really quickly. The mats are lovely and I'm pleased overall.
