This expressive illustration captures a poetic impression of the Vauban Tower and rocks, TATIHOU ISLAND in Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue, along the Normandy coast. With fluid ink lines and translucent watercolor washes, the artist evokes the atmosphere of a quiet, windswept coastal moment. The free linework and vibrant composition create a sense of movement and stillness at once, blending architectural presence with emotional resonance. A contemporary travel sketch that merges place and feeling into a light yet striking image.

"“If you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere.”
― Vincent Van Gogh"
As a child, I dreamed of discovering the world. I would lose myself in books about explorers, drawing my own maps and imagined landscapes. Later, alongside my work as a graphic designer, I found nothing more fulfilling than capturing the world around me through photography – especially while traveling.
These days, I travel mostly in my mind. I venture out less far, but experience everything more deeply. I explore the Flemish countryside and the French coast on my Brompton, and spend hours walking through nature.
This is how my drawings are born: as impressions of movement, wind, light. Ink lines follow the rhythm of a slope; colors suggest a feeling, a scent, a memory. Each drawing is a kind of visual travel journal – not of distant places, but of presence, of the moment itself.
