"By cutting up photographs, I create new worlds in which my feelings live."
Art and emotions are inextricably linked. Emotions demand expression, and my technique, splittography, combines photography with geometric splitting. This gives colour an intrinsic value instead of just colouring objects. The collage combines different materials into a new aesthetic unity and reflects my emotions.
I find inspiration in my feelings, memories and my surroundings. I capture moments with my camera and project them onto canvases. This technique allows me to question entrenched meanings and create new perspectives. The process of collaging is a game of searching, combining and experimenting that makes my inner moods visible.
I am often asked whether I have an idea in advance. Sometimes ideas emerge in advance, but usually the image develops during the creative process. My central theme of "art and emotions" is reflected in every collage. By cutting up photographs into geometric pieces, I create new content and express my emotional world. Each cut changes the meaning and opens up space for something new.
