Lukas Frischknecht grew up in rural eastern Switzerland, but now lives and works as an art director in advertising in Zurich. His motifs are usually created from jumbled lines and shapes on paper. He then tries to simplify the sketches as much as possible on the computer: Frischknecht puts every line to the test. Half of them fall victim to his minimalist eye, until in the end only the most important ones remain. By reducing things to the essentials, however, Frischknecht's modern, sometimes abstract paintings have a strong emotional impact. In his free time, exactly six lines are the greatest source of inspiration for the Swiss artist: the strings of his guitar.
