"I am like a tailor who builds costumes, sets the scenes and then draws what he sees."
Tupho, aka, Gerhard Roza, likes things to be lush. The photographer uses animals and humans as subjects, and then transposes these images in a way that compares them to costuming, creating a surreal and mystical atmosphere to his work, which blurs the line between naturalistic photography and abstract collage. The Viennese makes references towards historical masterpieces and pop culture, playing expectations and received wisdom against each other.
