Through Dutch designer Remko Heemskerk we can see the city of New York afresh again. His images are a take on the famed architecture of NYC, but with the grit and greyness removed and recast in bright colours, seeking to recreate the wide-eyed optimism of a first-time visitor. His pieces offer a fresh take on the iconic skylines and street scenes, filled as they are with outdoor staircases, skyscrapers and the cross-town bridges of Manhattan and Brooklyn. Remko himself is a graphic designer, artist and illustrator who has now moved home from New York to his native Netherlands.
