A central theme of Dorothée Zombronners work is the critical examination of standardized beauty and questioning of traditional visual habits. Physicality and femininity play just as much a role in her works as everyday experiences, conversations and a certain comedy. With preference, she uses everyday materials to reassemble them under different angles. Dorothee Zombronner prefers to work with overpaintings of art prints (mainly works from Western art history, but also images from magazines and postcards are used).
