Hi, Im Dorothée. I am an berlin based artist. I use everyday materials to reassemble them under different angles. I also love to work with overpaintings of art prints (mainly works from Western art history, but also images from magazines and postcards are used). By overpainting the art print, the view of the picture changes and the picture changes its message. It is mainly pictures that serve the male gaze that the artist paints over. Thus, the mostly naked and defenceless women in the prints mutate into warriors and superheroes. The masks and attributes I give them, oscillate somewhere between Catwoman and Pussy Riot. A central theme of my work is the critical examination of standardized beauty and questioning of traditional visual habits. Physicality and femininity play just as much a role in my works as everyday experiences, conversations and a certain comedy. I hope you have fun with my stuff, find something that you like and that you enjoy working on it as much as I do!

Ordered door mats from Juniqe. When they didn't arrive I contacted their customer service. I was a bit worried about how that would go, but I have to say, they were really great - got back to me immediately, polite, friendly and really helpful. They chased the delivery and when they weren't happy with the reply from the courier - resent the order, which I received really quickly. The mats are lovely and I'm pleased overall.
