Johannes Siemensmeyer grew up on Lake Constance but moved to Weimar to study visual communication at the Bauhaus University. His subject matter: a who’s who of iconic German writers, philosophers, artists and actresses. Goethe, Schiller, Paul Klee, Marlene Dietrich and Nietzsche are rendered in acrylic, pen, watercolour or digitally in Photoshop. He experiments tirelessly with new techniques and constantly tries to re-invent his style.
