Peony Yip aka The White Deer from Hong Kong works as a graphic designer, but does not describe herself as an artist or illustrator, but as a creator of things that inspire people and offer identification value. She likes to jokingly refer to her work as "absurd drawings", which is only too apt a description of the essence of her work. With technical support, she creates bizarre collages from human, zoological and botanical subjects. Whether in black and white or bright colours, fine lines and minute details are responsible for the delicate, almost fragile character of her works. As The White Deer, Yip wants to retain the freedom to experiment, which allows her to follow previously uncharted paths and lose herself in new ideas.

Ordered door mats from Juniqe. When they didn't arrive I contacted their customer service. I was a bit worried about how that would go, but I have to say, they were really great - got back to me immediately, polite, friendly and really helpful. They chased the delivery and when they weren't happy with the reply from the courier - resent the order, which I received really quickly. The mats are lovely and I'm pleased overall.
