Hi, I’m Sandy. Illustrator, graphic designer, author and mum to two children. I illustrate stories, books and products for children and families. It all began with my love of plants, animals and lovingly designed stationery. I illustrated what I found beautiful and what brought me joy. Over time, I realised that I’m particularly moved by projects that give children something: courage, self-confidence, curiosity or the reminder that they’re just right the way they are. And so, little by little, I created little uplifting companions for everyday family life. Why VIERUNDFÜNFZIG, actually? I’m actually asked this question quite often. When I founded my brand, the number 54 was a nod to the year 1954. The year rock ’n’ roll was born. Today, I associate VIERUNDFÜNFZIG with something quite different: all the illustrations, books, ideas and little uplifting companions that have emerged over the last few years. Some names simply grow over time, along with their stories.
